Take it Easy, It is a Monday Morning…

Monday Morning Easy

I have come here to be mighty!  I have a mighty Spirit with inner strength that is so powerful…

And it is safe for me to be powerful because that power comes from Source.  My power does not manifest as power over others; rather it gives me internal strength, and I am so grateful for that.

Gratitude Illusion of Lack

And, yes, sometimes I suffer from illusions of lack…it is a concern, but I try to catch it before it becomes a worry, for that is a contrast for what I know is mine coming to me when the time is right.  As I spoke of this morning on my Facebook page “Empower Excellence “It’s Your Money” LIVE & More”, it is so important that when there is a money concern, or a concern of any type, that I take the time to “BREATHE”!

And, when I do, the concerns seem to lend themselves to some rational thinking…Really!

This weekend I continued my work towards creating a whole series of Money Energy programs in my online school “Empower Excellence Transformational Moments” (available on Teachable.com), and as a side trip with that work, I discovered the work by Ryan Eliason on The Revolutionary Entrepreneur.  I set it aside to do in the evening on Saturday thinking it was an easy 92-page read.  I was wrong; it opened me up to 7 pages of journaling, and the result of that took me back to several years ago, starting my business, and creating my core values.

CORE VALUES ______November 2013 jpg

You see, when I began my business, Empower Excellence, LLC, I already knew my passion and my mission:  Helping Individuals (Personal Sustainability) realize a better money relationship through better Money Energy.  The book THE ENERGY OF MONEY by Maria Nemeth came my way in the early 2000’s, and it opened my eyes to what I had prepared for through my whole life!  When you change the money relationship for one individual, it goes on to change the world of their family, their community, and the environment and world.

Ryan Eliason’s work brought it all back in a clear manner, and I spent time yesterday taking the 7 pages of journaling to prepare for my work as a Socially Conscious Change Maker, which I have always been, but it is now time to share little by little my CALL TO ACTION:  Let’s Change the World by Changing Me, Changing You through our Money Energy and Money Relationship !

And, just like always, The Universe this morning provided the first commercial I have seen about the Grange Insurance Audubon Center in Columbus, Ohio whose mission it is to conserve and restore natural ecosystems…for the benefit of humanity and the earth’s biological diversity.  It was a confirmation that I am back on track…Grange became my insurance company this past year (I had had Grange for years when I lived in Columbus, Ohio), and it showed how changing the world is a simple shift in energy from the corporate world to each individual contributor to this Center.  It made me smile!  It is small, but it did make me smile.

So, yes, it is Monday morning, let cares and concerns make way for powerful Money Energy, and …

Let’s Talk More About Your Energy..

Joy Words in Cloudy Sky Satisfaction Happiness

We are only 11 days from the official start of Spring.  Really?  There have been 2 snowstorms across the country in less than 2 weeks.  The garden center sign reminds me each time I drive by that it is now 2 weeks until Spring.  Just this morning I was talking to a robin who refused to stay for a photo.  I wandered outside in the 34 degree weather (up from 20 degrees several hours ago) to take a photo of darling little snowdrop flowers who appear to be “frozen” in time!  Energy is all around; it is just not the energy we think of.  Energy surrounds us, it is what keeps the Universe moving!  The robin will return with friends, the snowdrops will bloom, the squirrels are still gathering nuts and acorns–they, too, have their doubts about Spring!

My work with THE ENERGY OF MONEY began almost 20 years ago reading a book by the same name by Maria Nemeth, and she is now a life coach based on the West Coast I do believe.  This morning it occurred to me that when I talk about money being involved in all of our lives, it became apparent to me that maybe I need to be more precise.  It is ENERGY that is all around us.  So, I want to move forward with the thought that while Money is apparent in all parts of your life, ENERGY has a predominant role:  Energy is time, Energy is physical vitality, Energy is enjoyment, Energy is creativity, Energy is the support of friends.  It is the ENERGY through the tool of Money that enriches our lives.

Your energy of money has to begin with an introspective look at your life and where it is working and where it is not working.  Through that path of discovery, you, too, can become more aware of where your personal ENERGY has taken you, where it is today, and where you want it to take you from the present to the future.  ENERGY is a gift, a present, that only you can give to yourself!

Really, What is Money Energy?

Apple Glasses Studying

This is the kind of question that really is so easy for me, and yet it is not easy for others to understand.

Let’s start with “energy”.  Think of this is your personal electrical system.  There are many factors which come into play when you talk about your personal energy.  Joseph Campbell described money as “congealed energy, “and releasing it releases life’s possibilities.”  That is a very implied view, and to learn more about it you can always read what got me started on this in the 1990’s.  Maria Nemeth in 1997 wrote THE ENERGY OF MONEY.  It is described o the book’s cover as “A Spiritual Guide to Financial and Personal Fulfillment.”  And how do you get the energy of money to be your personal guide in your money relationship.  It is really quite simple if you read the book jacket:

  • Uncover the hidden landscape of beliefs, patterns, and habits that underlie and sometimes subvert your everyday use of money and personal resources
  • Tame the dragons of driven behavior and busyholism
  • Defuse fears of deprivation and scarcity
  • Embrace and work through paradox and confusion
  • Consciously focus on your money energy
  • Clear yourself to receive the energy and support of others and the universe
  • Develop and stay on your personal path to abundance

Now, isn’t that easy!  No, it is not, and that is why I am offering to take small bites out of the topic after years of spiritual study and years of financial preparedness in the financial industry.  Your money relationship involves every part of your life, so I would like to help you direct your personal energy towards working on your money energy especially when you are experiencing transitions in your life.  Just one small step at a time like the illustration shows below:

Start with your energy, identify your first step to work on (such as being positive about money), do that work, and with time you will become excellent which will empower you and generate more energy to start the energy cycle all over!  Now that cycle is easy to follow, just do not expect that everything will happen all at once:  one step at a time!

2018: Can You Live “Wealthy” This Year?

Trust Yourself

In my live moment on Empower Excellence @financialwellnessforall on Facebook today, I took a brief moment to put self esteem front and center in regards to your energy with money.  The graphic above from Michael Bernard Beckwith is a strange rendition of self esteem, but self esteem is really about trusting yourself way down deep and then reaping the rewards of doing that.

While many of my clients are women, self esteem is a major issue that I deal with in order to get to solutions of problems and relationships with money.  So many times, folks simply want to get an easy formula to bring wealth into their lives, especially at the beginning of a new year.  While that does not usually work, because the problems go way deeper than just wanting to become wealthy, I believe in giving some folks what they want.  So from an article in SUCCESS magazine from January, 2017 by Tom Corley, here are 10 Tips to Achieve Financial Freedom in a Year.

  1. Broke Habit 1:  You Spend Too Much on Housing
  2. Broke Habit 2:  You Spend Too Much on Cars
  3. Broke Habit 3:  You Develop Habits by Association
  4. Broke Habit 4:  You Rely on Credit Cards to Finance Your Lifestyle
  5. Broke Habit 5:  You Spend on a Whim
  6. Broke Habit 6:  You Gamble Too Much
  7. Broke Habit 7:  You Overspend on Entertainment
  8. Broke Habit 8:  You Don’t Save
  9. Broke Habit 9:  You Don’t Track Your Spending
  10. Bad Money Habit 10:  You Don’t Bargain Shop

Simple right?  Oh yes, it is simple to just make all of these changes and begin to live a wealthy life.  You can change every one of the above behaviors, I have no doubt.  BUT, if you do not go deeper to find the reason for the behaviors, it will not last.  Yes, that is where self esteem enters the picture.  Think about all of the above and then begin to think about the “WHY” behind each one.  The author of the SUCCESS article is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Financial Planner.  I left his industry to begin working with the real relationships folks have with money.  Until the self esteem issue is recognized and resolved, any behavior changes will only be temporary…  Recognize the self esteem issue, you change the energy, and then The Energy of Money can follow!

It Started with Energy, and It Became…

Butterfly Escaping Earth Peace 7 8 16

Way back in the late 1990″s, I was working a great deal with women in the financial services industry.  It was not a predetermined niche market, but it became that way because I tend to have a good relationship building model with women.  And that eventually led to me reading a book by Maria Nemeth called THE ENERGY OF MONEY.  Yes, it started with my energy work in reiki and meditation and more, but it led me right into the field of financial services.  This was a departure of a book, and I really took to the theory behind it.  Moving forward through the years, Maria Nemeth was my go to author until she no longer was.

Through the years, all people, but women especially, began to look for quick fixes with their money relationship and a very involved, interactive book no longer did it.  Too much time, too much work!  There was once a brave Unity minister who worked with me to present a 12-week program based on the book, and that had a very short life.  People want easy!  People want quick!  And that is why most people do not have the money relationship they crave.  They want the quick fix, but they ae not willing to spend the time to unpeel all of the money myths, mis-teachings, and more they have learned.

In the 90’s I did a lot of group programs, but money is too personal to speak about in a group.  So I began personal sessions, since money is personal, and grouped them into easy-to-do series that could be done at first in person and now on Skype.  That is a good model because people want a confidant with their money.  They also want someone who will not, cannot, sell them product, or represent a company they do not want to align with.  And, with great criticism by other financial professionals in the beginning, I let my securities licenses go.  I had to believe in what I was and what I am doing.  I am helping the clients improve their knowledge of financial decision making; I am not improving a corporate America’s firm’s bottom line!

It is all about energy, beginning with the person, and expanding into every part of the person’s life.  The secret is finding where the energy is lacking and why; and then it is up to me as the coach and the client to lay out a pattern to change and create the new energy they are seeking throughout their life including money.

The money is a s vital as life; empowering someone to really understand and make financial decisions empowers them in every part of their life.  That is what I do; that is what my mission is.  I learned this with 5 years in banking and 12 years in the traditional financial planning field.  I was good at what I did; perhaps too good.  Corporate America does not want an advisor who really takes a lot of time with clients.  It is a game of “get them in the door, sign the papers, sell the product, and keep the relationship going because that is what brings in more money over the years.”  Yes, I do have a number of financial professionals who I believe are great with clients while keeping corporate America happy.  It can be done.  It just was not what was right for me with my clients!

So, today, in 2017, I am rededicating myself to the concept behind Empower Excellence, and that is helping clients learn how to make financial decisions all across the spectrum.  This can be from choosing the right financial professional to understanding what decisions are necessary through various financial transitions  to do what it is a client wants to do:  enter a relationship, leave a relationship, create the right career path, change career paths, how to work with aging parents in the final years of life to leave a legacy, and more.  I do not work alone; I work with many different areas of professionals, and that is also part of my success.  I do not know all of the answers; but I do now most of the questions that need to be asked about money throughout a person’s life.

Knowing the questions and setting a client out on the right path can make a world of difference with them and their money, and that is just a part of what I do.

And, I am working with an increasing number of clients in 2018 with client slots being booked currently.  Please do not hesitate to call me, I do call you back, and I begin with a 30-minute complimentary consultation.  It is all about finding the right path for you and your money.

Leaving Eddie Jones Created New Energy…and EMPOWER Excellence Began to Breathe!

As I began to see the end in sight for my career at Edward Jones, I began to think about what my next career was to be.  Lots of people had lots of ideas.  Some of those ideas I began to give thought to; some fell by the way quite quickly.  I now knew I was not a great employee any longer:  I had created my set of values and found it necessary to live by those values all of the time not just when I was “off work”.  Values were an important consideration.

Folks of influence upon me for many years expressed an opinion that I needed to share with others what I had talked of in my financial seminars for women, and that was all-out “The Energy of Money”.

Always reading on financial topics, I read “The Energy of Money” by Maria Nemeth, and its impact on me was very strong.  It spoke to me!  I did begin incorporating thoughts from it when I spoke to women’s groups.  Yes, it was a path to consider, and I did.

At one point, I was challenged by a Catholic nun to present a program to a group of women transitioning from homelessness to independent living.  Conversations with the women brought out two important points to them about money:  they wanted to be empowered and they wanted to be excellent with money.

So a snowy morning in November in 2010, my logo as appears above was created by me on my computer.  EMPOWER Excellence was born.  The colors carefully chosen through personal preference and intuition and spirituality directing me.  It was meaningful; it did reflect my values of energy, work, excellence, and empowerment.  Yes, this was it.

No Joy! No Mojo? Or Is It “Nojo” And What Does It Have To Do With Money?

Joy Ride

Are you full of joy today?  Or is there NO JOY today?

Smile 4 3

It really is up to you today!

And that is just for today, but, what if you take day after day when you are bored and frustrated, full of bitterness?

Do you play the victim?

Are you “stuck”?

Do you feel obliged because of family commitments, obligations?

Are you resentful?

Are you full of resentment?

Are you living life asleep?

This all takes me back to the 1990’s when I discovered “THE ENERGY OF MONEY” by Maria Nemeth.  As a financial planner and former bank manager, I was surrounded by financial issues.  Literally, I was surrounded both in my professional and personal life.  I had been a single parent since my boys were 4 and 8.  I felt all of the above emotions.  I felt I had mortgaged my future for my children.  It was my choice once the choice for a divorce was made by their father.  Responsibility was my strong suit while it was his weak suit!  This was the beginning of what I am doing today.  Money takes on our energy, our mojo.  If there is no joy in our personal life, our money has no joy, just responsibility.  The mojo disappears in all parts of our lives.  Until …

You make the decision to change it.

Going back to the concept by Marshall Goldsmith of Mojo, “What We Bring” to an activity is our professional mojo.  Motivation, Knowledge, Ability, Confidence, and Authenticity can be brought to the table.  Our personal mojo is affected by the activity and “What We Receive”.  It is all give and take in all parts of our life, including our money relationship.  We can receive Happiness, Reward, Meaning, Learning, and Gratitude.

Of course, life variables such as health, wealth, our relationships, happiness, and meaning are already present or absent and they are part of what we do bring to an activity; but those variables can change by what we bring in any moment.

Unless, of course, there is inertia…
