For those who did the right thing…Our Veterans!

Today, Veterans’ Day 2019 is so needed right now. It does not matter how you felt about past wars or peace times, the men and women who believed in their “why” to serve our country or simply did the right thing for any personal reason not only served but also helped continue to build our county, an infinite belief from the start that the United States will go on and on. There is no finite belief that winning a particular war or skirmish will make everything right. It is time today, this week, and forward to believe, and I have to admit there are days that I feel our country is headed for more bad days, to believe that the United States will make it through the negativity facing our country today. There will be new leaders, there will be new battles–military and political–but we will make it through to continue the infinite belief on which our country was founded. Personally, remembering my father, the soldier and the career government servant, he believed in doing the right thing always. He lives on in infinity.

Conversations in Dreams…

Many strange things happen especially in dreams. I am a true believer of Source, Higher Beings, and more. Working with women in many parts of my life, having women in my dreams is not unusual, but this dream this weekend was–I did not know these two women but they invited me to an event and I went without knowing what it was all about–that probably has something to do with my too-trusting nature, but it turned out ok as this event was at the YWCA. Ok, probably deep in my psyche was the thought of AGELESS WOMEN OF WISDOM and the sharing of wisdom across all generations of women. But I was asked to present among political actors in the group. Then came the advice following my presentation that I should not be so vocal, so honest. I was aghast and called someone, political in nature whom I have not seen or talked to in years. His name was Jay and he appeared and defended my vocal politicism. The final words of the night to me were “SPEAK UP”. This conversation definitely needed to have occurred in person on all levels. In the meantime, I am staying away from all politics as Election Day is tomorrow!

Set Yourself Free…

Today’s blog is plain and simple: only you can set yourself free from any cage in any part of your life! In the last few days, the political climate following the mass shootings in El Paso and Dayton has turned ugly and sickening. And it affects all of us. Yes, I have a circle and it is wide. When that political ugliness hurts one of my friends of many years who happens to be a US Senator from Ohio, I literally felt trapped in a cage of nausea. But enough is enough…

Another part of life is your professional life, and my circle no longer inspires for the most part. I am the only one who can let me recreate the circle, in other words, get out of the cage I am in. I began reading CLOCKWORKS last night, and I am out of the cage, reinventing my circle. And two good examples appeared last evening in emails. Enough is enough…

Are you in a circle or in a cage? Ageless Women of Wisdom was born to help women leave their cage and find their circle of wisdom, no matter the age of anyone in the feminine gender who can share their wisdom with others, including men and women. But let’s create the circle of women of wisdom first, let’s free the women of all ages who find themselves in cages of action, thought, and more…Because enough is enough!

AWE, We are all part of one bird…one human race, Amen

There is so much happening in our world of politics, the environment, climate change, and all of the human race. It may look overwhelming, but going into a quiet space emotionally and physically helps to sort it out even if just a little.

Recently the topic of feminism has come into my realm of awareness more and more, and it leaves me wanting to say that we are all one humanity and all should be treated with justice and equality which are totally connected. An interesting book made its way home with me from my wonderful local library. The book interestingly enough was made in China which struck me as odd since it really did not have an international flavor to it even though feminism knows no boundaries, but I digress. The book entitled THE FUTURE IS FEMINISM consisted of essays by 21 women. Why this strikes me is that I am not a supporter of “feminism”, and, before there is a revolution, hear me out. We all are from one SOURCE, and everyone has at birth, in most situations but not all I will admit, equality. What needs to change is the behavior of each and every individual–male and female–to bring about equal pay, full reproductive rights, and equal justice. A sense of identity and activism is needed and all of us-male and female–are responsible to take on that mantle beginning with each one of us and sharing that identity and activism with each person we care about and love!

When AWE Ageless Women Emerging became phase one of AWW Ageless Women of Wisdom it did and does have a focus on all generations of women only because I am not of the belief that I can manifest total change of the world, but I can manifest change one woman at a time from emergence to wisdom. And each woman can then share her wisdom with other women of all ages and, in turn, each can share with the men in their lives. AWE and AWW focus on the needs, the desires, joy, esteem building and more. None of which focuses on any shame or blame to either gender. We are not a part of the “liberal feminism” movement; we are part of sharing the wisdom with the feminist parts of both men and women. There are so many categories of feminism used today, and I can list at least 12 types. Why do we have to categorize? Feminism is a benefit to everyone and is a normal part of life when love and justice are a part of our lives. I am not a feminist, I am a post-feminist. Feminism is not an exclusive party. We are the human race, all parts of the same “bird”.

And this same thought process applies in so many areas today. British 16-year old Great Thunberg collaborated with the British Pop Rock Band “The 1975” with her thoughts recently about climate change no longer will change only with civil disobedience but is in need of a full blown rebellion which is not limited to only female rebellion for there have been plenty of rebellions in history that involved men and women. Climate change affects everyone: rich and poor, men and women, citizens of all countries. We are all part of the same bird named HUMANITY.

POLITICS is beginning to understand this just a little as more and more individual women are taking on the mantle of responsibility and justice and becoming part of the political scene. Yes, there is a long way to go in each of these examples of feminism, climate change and politics. But a rebellion starts with one person and letting it go until it becomes so loud… I think you know what we need as the one bird of humanity. Stop the divisiveness and move on to love what we are individually and as humanity!

Mr. Rogers, the King of AWE and Kindness…

With Tom Hanks recreating the wonderful Mr. Rogers and Marianne Williamson quietly, kindly, and lovingly running for President of the United States, I am in AWE! The lesson unlearned during this time is that if you display kindness and love to all, each person becomes great and America will be great again. There is no “making America Great Again” for in our souls we all one by one are great. That kindness and love needs to be made individually correct for the last 40 years the “love” of the generations of the ’60’s and more has been replaced by the corporate love of corporate greed. Money has become the goal leaving so many if not all bereft of love and kindness. What it has left us with is stress, anxiety, and poverty for most of our country. It is time to stop and to begin to see the economics of nature, our natural being from time immortal. The economics of nature allow all, adults and children, to feel the love and kindness they were born with. We as adults need to lead this and follow the example of the children who desperately need and want to strive for individualism and creativity and natural productivity. The children really have no voice–it is the parents of all makes and models that have the say so. They vote or they don’t vote, they conscientiously parent or do not parent. We need to go back to the days of Mr. Rogers and more role models of radical kindness. Angela Santomero wrote a book by the title of RADICAL KINDNESS following what she learned about giving and receiving from her mentor Fred Rogers. Each of us needs a kindness practice including self care, vulnerability, active listening, and asking for help. It goes back into history and more. The Dalai Lama shared “BE KIND WHENEVER POSSIBLE”. It can be so easy as shared in Santomero’s work: First SEE, Then ACT, BE kind to yourself and others PERSON to PERSON, and ASK “Can you help me?” In today’s political culture, this may be a radical approach to running for office or sharing the story of a pop culture hero like Fred Rogers, but let’s try MAKE AMERICA KIND AGAIN for the tried and not true statement of MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN hasn’t worked for me, how about you?

The Secret Within Us Is “Balance”

9D319F0D-5064-4ADD-8720-C848D1E6CE06

We are always seeking “balance” in money, food, politics, family, friends, and more.  Trying to find what is right for us all the while being told what everyone thinks is right for us.  It surrounds us in all of the media—printed, electronic, and social.  There are those who say the media makes up the news.  Do they?  Is what we hear real or “fake”?  Is what we read the truth?  After years of exposure to everyone else, how can we find our “personal” balance?  How do we express more of ourself when sometimes we cannot find our “person”?

There is an answer.  It is not easy.  It depends how far “down the rabbit hole” we have gone.  We may not know how we feel about “family”.  We may not know how we feel about “friends”.  In this era of Trump, we may be totally torn about “politics”.  “Food” is a battlefield of good, bad, and more.  And we don’t have a clue about “money”!

The answer is finding your intuition…if you even know what it is.

“intuition” is the ability to acquire knowledge without proof, evidence or conscious reasoning, or without any understanding how we learned it.  Intuition begins with the native knowledge we are born with.  We react to being wet, hungry or tired.  But all gets murky when we begin interacting with our environment, and that includes family, friends, politics, food, and eventually money!

If we can find our foundation in intuition, then we can begin to rebuild and eventually find our balance in all areas.  “Balance” means listening to what we learn from our environment and taking what is pertinent to each of us personally and allowing it to become a part of our being.  It is not easy.  And that is why I chose it as this week’s topic.  So many of us are so conflicted, but all is not lost.  Finding your intuition is necessarily selfish, but you must be selfish.  This is your life.  It is the only one you have.

Now, taking each area of your life, separately, and quietly drilling down to find your meaning in each area, through  quiet, mindfulness, and meditation and other quiet energy paths, you will find your meaning coming to you…slowly but surely.  From there, you will find what resonates for you…only then can you, and only you, determine what “balance” is for you.  You will know it when you feel it…feelings are another topic for another week.
