Become Limitless With the Right Team

Limitless PossibilitiesIf you are to become limitless in your particular passion or mission, you need to focus on what that passion or mission is, and having a team can help with that.  But what is a team for you and your money?

You are dealing with money, no matter what your passion is.  It takes money to live, so you need to have a coach if you are not making money!  Maybe a life coach if your total life is out of control, or a business coach if you are just starting as an entrepreneur or have hit a growth stage.

Unless you are a good multitasker and good with numbers, hire someone to do Quickbooks or an alternative.

You need a good accountant to keep you and your taxes out of trouble…

Do not forget about a financial professional to start you out to plan for all the financial goals you have:  college for your children, retirement, and more.

There are many qualifications for each depending on your business and your financial position in your business.  The most important thing, however, is that each of the team members know that their role is to hold you accountable to certain goals you are seeking.  It is important that you develop the goals before you begin to interview to get the right team member and that they can all work together:  you are looking for collaboration and not competition!

My role as a Money Energy coach can help you develop the goals and the accountability guidelines as you begin this process…

“Brave” is an Attitude!

Dragonflies Brave

The dragonfly in the chosen graphic this morning reminds me of a dear friend who is starting off on not one but two ventures that require bravery on more than one front.  The dragonfly is a favorite of hers,  Several years ago, she left Northeast Ohio to move literally across the country to be closer to her adult children and her one grandchild at the time–now there are two.  She literally set off with a friend in a u-haul to do it.  She re-established her business and kept on living her life.  Now, she is preparing for a hiking trip in the great northwest woods with her family.  She is excited, as she should be.  She is prepared, that is her way.  But the main thing is that she is in love with the challenge and with life and with the unknown adventure.  This was a costly venture, but her attitude is priceless.

At the same time, she will begin her venture to earn her bachelor’s degree.  She is up for the mental and physical challenge, and she is prepared.  She is fearful of the financial commitment, but she knows she will be brave and accomplish this longtime goal.

The irony is not lost on me.  She mentions being physically prepared for the days of hiking and being prepared to meet bears, but it is the financial aspect of returning to school that concerns her.  Money does that!  But she has an attitude:  she is brave, and she will do all of this because she is also perseverant , and I love that about her.  Brave is an attitude that can carry us over mountains and through online courses because “brave” is an attitude!

Are You Comfortable Being Uncomfortable?

Tree House Living

The standard of being “comfortable” today is far different than even 50 years ago.  I went through my years thankful for having a safe, comfortable home in a suburb of Cleveland.  I always had enough to eat although my mother’s cooking allowed me to stay underweight for years.  I had a decent education.  I was not challenged, I was not encouraged in the arts.  My parents came from an ethnic European and Great Britain background, and both families had an alcoholic background.  Both families were dysfunctional.  However, through it all, I developed a fairly high standard of values, educated myself over the years to have both a public and private college education and degree.  Married, had an adopted child and a natural-born child, became a single parent when my sons were 4 and 8.  The one thing that was pervasive in my life was a lack of money!  End of story.

Beginning of story:  I learned what was important to me, I learned that money was a topic of concern, and I became a banker and a financial planner.  I lived from check to check, and, it is wonderful to say that I am finally living in the flow of money.  I needed to learn this, and I taught this to clients since 1993.  That is the Introduction to Me today.

Yes, in today’s American culture, I seek a simplistic lifestyle, I have goals for the future, but I chose to live in Oberlin, Ohio because of the more simplistic values here.  Having spent a year here, I am content in my 1100-square foot rental that provided everything I asked the Universe for.  And still, I hope to live in a home that will become part of my investment portfolio within the next 4 years.  Even so, what I have considered are not huge homes; I am looking for simplicity and spirit and a connection to nature.  The final outcome, once thought to have been decided, is not.  I am still learning who I am, what my values are today, and where I will be able to work and write and share the Money Energy that has become my passion.  It probably has been the mission and passion since my pre-conception days, and I had to have the life experiences I had so that I could really help people from all backgrounds.

But, guess what.  I could do that in a treehouse!  But there would be certain things I would want in that treehouse….

Ready, Set, GOALS!

Hope Butterfly 2

If you are here at this point today, you have already chosen joy, tranquility, peace, and dreams, which means you have Hope!  The rest of the story does not just happen…it is up to you to write the story, and that takes goals.  Call them whatever you want, but my friend Tama Kieves has shared this:

Are you setting goals that fit your life?  If they’re real goals, they will blow up your life, drag you out to sea, push your head under water, and make you gasp for air–and see the light.  Real goals are an identity shift.

Set a goal today that frightens you and gives you hope and let’s you begin to live the life of your dreams!

And then September began…

Nor is it an excuse…

Yesterday was September 1, and it turned out to be a very productive day in a very different way…I am beginning an invitation-only program to fast track me in a selected area of The Empower Excellence Experience.  It came to me without any request on my part.  That was a door opening to realize that I often do not ask for manifestations that are “big” enough.  This is a big ask that came to me, and I accepted the challenge.  You see, like “being a girl” is never a reason or excuse for anything, as we get older, the reason or excuse that “we are too old” to start something big is never a reason or an excuse for anything!

I guess, with the change of the seasons as Fall approaches, I am finally accepting that I am “older”.  But that is probably as far as it will go.  I am young at heart, younger in appearance than my chronological age, and my fighting spirit that was pushed down in the 1960’s is coming into full bloom.  I am ready for anything and everything within my choosing.

And that is what my move to Oberlin 6 months ago this weekend was all about:  I am choosing a different lifestyle.  I am choosing to combine that lifestyle with an on-line modern day presence in many parts of the reconfigured Empower Excellence into The Empower Excellence Experience.  I want my freedom to do what is my mission and passion:  Personal Sustainability.  Many have traveled this road in many forms:  we want peace and quiet and love to pursue what is ours to do.  And that has nothing to do with being female or being older.  It is the essence of the soul becoming awake!

So, yes, yesterday was September 1, and I worked and I went “into the city” to do necessary banking that cannot be done electronically.  I took two first steps in the accelerated challenge and began to reach goals for that program already.  I crossed off another “to do” because literally I am too old to participate in a financial services program but I can do a better, more sustainable job of the task on my own.  That was confirmed by my insurance agent!  I did what was mine to do, including laundry, brewing gallons of tea for the coming week, and cleaning the floors of my home.  It was nesting in many areas, and it was mine to do.

There was no blog…that was meant to start off the month of September today.  And this is what I offer each and every one of you in this newly arriving season that I love…it is called “Fall” for a reason.  It is time to fall in love with yourself and what is yours to do, no matter how little or big or challenging or not challenging it is.  Fall for the love in your heart, in nature, and in all you do.  This is what I wish for you today on this Labor Day Weekend, and, for many of us, falling is a labor that we sometimes feel it not justified, as we have too many other things to do,  But many times those other things lead to a winter of discontent!

Happy Weekend, Yes, It Is!

happy-butterfly-wekend

It is the weekend!  Yes, it is!  Being happy, Yes, I am!  Butterflies are Flying, Yes, they are!  Food is local, Yes, it is!  Being Sustainable, Yes, I am!  I have worked my butt off for several weeks working on all parts of my business through The Empower Excellence Experience…transitional financial coaching, Professional Women’s Connection, The Practice at Oberlin, Pampered Chef “healthy”, and Norwex!  This is all about Personal Sustainability!  Personal Sustainability is the basis of my Core Values!

Because of my Core Values, I have worked my butt off.  This is month 4 of my journey to 2022.  2022 is special for it is when The Empower Excellence Experience will begin building its own complex in Oberlin.  It is when the true manifestation of blending personal and professional Core Values will be real.

But until then,  I have been working to unwind my workaholic personality.  That is important to reach my 2022 goal!  And today was a successful day towards that goal…It Has Been a Happy Weekend!

Be Willing to Climb the Stairs…

Stairs

Every once in a while, I find that I am lost!  Not physically lost, but emotionally lost.  Nothing is falling into place, and yet nothing is falling apart.  The last 24 hours or so have been like that.  While I am tranquil, I am not energized!  And I like being energized!

So a good night’s sleep usually helps.  Time away from everything happening helps.  I thought about that this morning as we approach the Easter weekend.  Everyone, including Jesus, needs a timeout for an hour or a day or a week.  With all that happens in the traditional Easter week, Jesus needed a few days away.  Momentum stops when we are sleeping — temporarily or not.

Rested, I feel energized and ready to hit the ground running, making decisions on the priorities in my life; and some things will fall by the wayside.  Yes, some decisions were made yesterday, and that could be part of last night’s malaise.  They were easy decisions to make, but there are still more to come in the coming days/

I am at the foot of the stairs, thinking I know where the stairs lead.  Maybe I do, maybe I do not.  But I am ready to take the stairs one at a time, remembering to remain rested and energized.  Will my goal be at the top of the stairs?  A goal will be there, but there will be many more stairs to climb in the coming five years as we create my life in Oberlin.

Is this a Conspiracy?

The Universe Once You Decide

Moving to Oberlin has been really good, and it has awakened in me the reasons I moved here.  It was to begin a new phase of my life, and I am rolling out new programs that will become part of The Empower Excellence Experience.  But, like all new things, old things get replaced…and that has been hard for me.

But it is getting easier as I become more rested and aware of my own personal intentions.  The temptress of being in Greater Cleveland is losing her attraction.  I need to be here to build the expanded version of Empower Excellence.  And, my thoughts and meditations are bringing me back to my reasons for being here.

Let’s use yesterday as an example, I drove 120 miles roundtrip for two clients in a distant county.  They have been long-term clients.  Lots has been accomplished with them, but they are both suddenly stagnating and not moving forward.  It is known that I am a strong accountability coach, and nonsense is not tolerated.  It does not serve the client well to allow them to fall behind and lose focus.  Well, one client received notice today that yesterday was our last session since she has changed her future path!  The second client now has an accountability schedule before our next contingent session!

They are both a part of my past with coaching.  My coaching moving forward will be looking for people who have a strong core to accomplish their goals.  In some cases, that will be a strong Spiritual core.  But, I am not messing around with my resources to make clients feel that they are accomplishing things simply by having a coach!  My path and mission are stronger than that!  This is all a part of releasing the past…and it  is important for clients seeking financial empowerment

Can You Limit Yourself to Only One?

number-bubbles-3

Yes, it is Monday, and, yes, there is a lot to do, whether it is personal or professional, but can you limit yourself to doing only one thing at a time?

You may know of the Pareto Principle, or the 80/20 rule.  80% of sales, and we are all in sales, personally or professionally, come from 20% of your activity.

In a recent Mother Earth Living publication, there was reference to limits to set on yourself to make your life more productive:

  1. Only One Goal:  More than that, focus and energy are lost.
  2. Two times a day to check email.
  3. Three Most Important Tasks Per Day!
  4. Four:  Batch all tasks.  These are the smaller ones in addition to the three Most Important Tasks.
  5. Five sentence emails.  Interesting
  6. Six news articles a day to be read.
  7. Seven minutes to waste!

Interesting stuff, and you can read the whole article in the January/February edition of the magazine.  But, I found that setting down a list that will limit you gives you permission to be productive in a different way.

I know with all that I choose to have in my life that it blends the personal and the professional together.  But everything I do, I choose to do.  Setting limits on what goes on my priority list was the first step, and the seven thoughts above help to make each day a day that I feel satisfied that I have done the best of what I can do in a 24-hour period, and, yes, one of the most important items is “sleep”.
