There are days that start very early to be “small self days”, like when in a dream your alarm is going off, it wakes you up but it is two hours earlier than the early alarm you set! Then you find that a speaker for an upcoming event cancelled by email after you had gone to sleep!
That is a day to feel “small”.
But it is 4:30, I have begun arrangements for a new speaker, I did not go back to sleep, and I found a meditation for a power nap in 5 minutes to use during this long day when I am with the small people, really the little people…energy be mine!
These would be several good reasons not to do this blog today, but, happiness does not come when you give up. I find this many times with potential clients who really need help in the financial area in order to find happiness, but there are many reasons that they, too, feel like a small person, but they need to find their song for happiness and sing anyway. Everything in my life revolves around butterflies, including when I feel like my small self, and I try to share this with potential clients not ready to feel large.
There are reasons folks shy away from financial education and advice, and much of it can be compared to a butterfly who may be having a small self day. First, they may feel like they need to refuse to adapt. Money changes in our lives and in our culture. Instead of taking the time to learn and adapt, they are stuck. They need to learn to work smarter!
If the butterfly did not adapt, it would still be a caterpillar, and we know that is not a decision the butterfly makes.
They may have a fear of the unknown.
ONCE AGAIN, I AM SURE THE CATERPILLAR IS PRETTY SCARED!
They may be waiting for someone else to be first.
Okay, the butterfly is a lonely creature and transforms on its own timeline!
They may be lazy.
No excuse here…it is do or die!
Or, they may just be distracted, until…
Like the butterfly, being distracted never changes the outcome…a caterpillar becomes a butterfly!
IN OTHER WORDS, WHEN FOLKS FEEL SMALL IN THEIR FINANCIAL LIFE, THEY NEED TO FIND THE SONG THAT THEY REALLY WANT TO SING, AND THEY NEED TO LEARN THE WORDS…Someday that song will be theirs.
