Thinking of Thanksgiving in a Very Different Way, but with Great Gratitude!

OH, THIS TURKEY NEEDS SOME COLOR!  OH, WAIT, THIS IS SOMETHING CRAFTY AND VERY DIFFERENT!

What in the world is this? Time to think differently about Thanksgiving?

What in the world is this? Time to think differently about Thanksgiving?

MAYBE WE NEED SOMETHING DIFFERENT THIS YEAR, or next, FOR THANKSGIVING…

When I came upon this version of a Thanksgiving turkey, I literally smiled, laughed, and posted this photo to Facebook looking for help on how to create this truly vegetarian, but not so healthy “bird”!

There were many reasons.  Rice Krispies have been around for years.  Mix them with butter, marshmallow cream, and other various and assorted ingredients, everyone knows about Rice Krispie Treats.  Every child spent time in the kitchen with their mother making these, licking the bowl, and loving the sweet, gooey treat.

Nostalgia, indeed!

But I want to make this for next year!

I now have my first grandchild, and, so far, his “crafty” mother has created a Christmas MistleToes Wall Hanging painting his little toes with paint and love and laughter.  Then, there is the Thanksgiving Plate that he created with her!

I know that she will see this photo and want to make this with her son who will be over a year old at this time next year…it will be fun and relaxing and a new tradition.

But there is more, because Thanksgiving Dinner is still a holiday tradition, but it can be a stressful time of the year for families.  And that is not counting all of the other stressors in our daily lives.

Maybe, just maybe, adding some new fun can bring us all back to what is important with families today:  love, fun, and something a little different to be grateful for…

I know some “little boys” who are now adults who would harken back to their childhoods with Rice Krispie Treats and M&Ms and say:  “Oh boy!”  This is great.  But, do not count on this “bird” being around by the time Dinner is Announced on Thanksgiving Day!

this is a very different blog post for me and EMPOWER Excellence, but isn’t that just one more way to start every day anew with your money…have some fun!  Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Oh, and let me know if you make this “bird”!
